"REIKI is finding its way into hospitals. Administered via gentle touch, this portable practice can even be helpful during surgery. Reiki brings feelings of calmness and wellbeing to the patient while it floods the body with the energy necessary for speedy healing. In our world today, Reiki is a very important tool for maintaining or restoring health. Reiki replaces lost energy and instills balance. When used during surgery, it has been found that benefits include: blood pressure remains steady, there is less bleeding, and less pain medications are necessary following surgery.
Reiki naturally instills feelings of power, calm and confidence in the patients who receive it as part of their protocol. It's very comforting and reassuring to have a Reiki master with you in the operating room to take care of YOU while you are under anesthesia.
It is not commonly understood that patients have the right to interview surgeons before selecting one to entrust with their operation. If you need surgery, we encourage you to seek out a surgeon you feel comfortable with, and ask if you can have a Reiki practitioner present during your surgery. The patients Raven works with have selected surgeons based on their answer to that question. REIKI sessions can be useful before, during and after surgery."
